In-House Diagnostics
If your pet’s wellness exam or sick visit reveals a concern that requires further testing, our in-house diagnostic capabilities can give us a clearer picture of your pet’s condition so that we can create a care plan right away.
Our diagnostic services include cytology, parasitology, hematology, digital radiology, dental radiology, endoscopy, ultrasonography, electrocardiography, and telemedicine services, among others. With an accurate diagnosis, we can provide your pet with safe, effective treatment that gets him or her on the road to better health as quickly as possible.
Specialist Referrals and Consultations
We believe strongly in a collaborative approach to medicine, and we always want what’s best for your pet. To that end, we work closely with specialists at several nearby facilities and around the country to bring your pet the highest level of care. Whether it’s highly specialized orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, or oncology (among other specialties), we can recommend hand-picked, board-certified veterinary specialists to meet your pet’s individual needs.
For example, veterinary internal medicine specialist Dr. Jeff Toll is available by special arrangement for ultrasounds, endoscopy, and consultations for the diagnosis and treatment of more complicated cases. Please call in advance for his services.
We also routinely consult with board-certified veterinary radiologists when reviewing digital x-rays of pets treated at Sunset Animal Clinic.
We augment our on-site electrocardiography (ECG) services whenever appropriate with board-certified veterinary cardiologists by remote consultations. For more complex cases Dr. Robert Prosek is our local choice for cardiology services.
