Modern Sterilization Techniques
In keeping with Sunset’s dedication to individualized care, we give you choices when it comes to sterilizing your pets.
We perform spay (for female pets) and neuter (for male pets) procedures for both dogs and cats, and we’ll help you choose the ideal time for your pet’s surgery.
In addition to traditional spaying or neutering, contemporary sterilization techniques are a specialty at Sunset Animal Clinic.
Dr. Khuly is one of few veterinarians in the country who performs vasectomies for the sterilization of male dogs and tubal ligations for females. Pet people come from all over the country to seek her services. Vasectomies and tubal ligations disable the animal’s ability to reproduce, while leaving in place the organs that produce certain hormones that in some cases may be beneficial to the animal.
And for those who prefer an unaltered appearance for their dogs, Neuticles, testicular implants, are also available by special request. These implants allow your dog to retain his natural look and self-esteem following sterilization.
Dental Surgery
Dental surgeries such as tooth extractions, mass removals, uncomplicated fracture treatment, and laceration repair are some of the most common surgeries we perform at Sunset Animal Clinic. Our dental technicians stay up-to-date on the latest oral procedures through continuing education courses with board-certified dentist Dr. Jan Bellows. Dr. Bellows is always available for the treatment of more complex dental conditions at Hometown Animal Hospital in Weston, Florida.
What We Don’t Do
Here at Sunset, cosmetic surgery is not an option except under specific circumstances. We do not perform cat declaws, nor do we perform ear cropping, tail docking, or dewclaw procedures.
Please don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions about our surgical options.
